Senior Candidate applications

Senior Candidate applications for the 2026 Engineering Obligation Ceremony will open in November of 2025, and application instructions will be posted here at that time.

If you are currently an undergraduate engineering student you should not apply using the Senior Candidate process; you will receive an invitation to register through your home university.

Eligibility

Senior candidate status is available to anyone who:

1. is or has previously been a fully-licensed professional engineer in Canada, or
2. is a graduate of an accredited Canadian undergraduate engineering program, or
3. has received confirmation of academic acceptability for licensure from a Canadian provincial or territorial regulator of professional engineering such as Professional Engineers Ontario.

If your undergraduate degree is not from an accredited Canadian engineering programme, you will not qualify as a Senior Candidate unless you can provide documentation demonstrating eligibility under points 1 or 3 above. It is not necessary to have completed the licensure process, just the assessment of academic acceptability.
