Senior Candidate Applications

In addition to graduating undergraduate engineers, engineers who meet the Senior Candidate criteria may also take the Obligation and receive the Iron Ring by participating in the Obligation Ceremony.

Applications to participate as a Senior Candidate in the 2026 Obligation Ceremony are now closed. Applications for the 2027 Ceremony will be accepted starting in November 2026.

Previous Engineering Obligation Ceremony

On 23 March 2025, 870 engineers took the Obligation and received their Iron Ring at Camp 3 Kingston, with over 2200 family, friends, and previously-Obligated Engineers in attendance. We also marked the 100th anniversary of the first Obligation Ceremony, held in Montreal in April of 1925.
